Title: Software Engineering Manager

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Job Responsibilities:
As a Software Engineering Manager, the candidate will report to the VP of Engineering and is responsible for the day to day activities of a dynamic software development team including but not limited to, tasking assignments, moderating design reviews, and upholding standard software engineering methodologies. The candidate must understand system requirements, drive detailed functional requirements, and direct development of current and new product designs. Candidate must have strong communication skills, exhibit a strong work ethic and set a high standard for quality for their team.

The Software Engineering Manager is primarily responsible for managing the functional area of software engineering and plans, directs, and coordinates activities of software engineering projects to ensure that project goals are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and quality. The Software Engineering Manager will manage a team of approximately 10 engineers.

The Software Engineering Manager must be able to function well in a highly-dynamic business that is technologically sophisticated, high performance, high demand and understands the effect of business changes to the business and the technology environment.

The Software Engineering process utilizes Java, C++, C#, SQL, MySQL and Apache-Tomcat. Software Engineering needs to embrace a formalized software development lifecycle in a complex technical environment requiring 24 x 7 reliability and availability. Multiple parallel development tracks are necessary to meet the changing business needs of the highly dynamic business. The Manager will work collaboratively with the Project Management Office, Sales Engineering and the Vice President of Engineering to set the technical direction of the various software products.

Required Experience:

Have an M.Sc or B.Sc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or related field with 10+ years of software development experience with at least five years in management, or relative equivalent.

Title: Site / Regional Technician, Customer Service

Location: Rutherford, NJ

Work Shift : Multiple

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Quickly and efficiently resolve customer issues to maintain maximum uptime.
• Maintain customer equipment by scheduling and performing regular preventive maintenance inspections on equipment;
• Work with support personnel to install new equipment and perform equipment upgrades,
• Properly control company assets by managing parts inventory and on-site tools.
• Maintain an exceptional level of customer satisfaction by communicating in a cooperative and supportive manner.
• Promptly review service updates/bulletins and take recommended action on same, installation/retrofit instructions, system machine schematics, etc.
• Continue to enhance value to company by staying technically current, i.e. attending continuing education courses in such areas as: networking and software, etc.
• Respond to emergency and non-scheduled calls for service 24/7 within established response time goals
• Provide technical support and training to less experienced Site Technicians
• Look for new ways to improve the timeliness and quality of the level of service provided.
• Be knowledgeable in customer processes and procedures, including Sortplans, IMB requirements etc.
• Be knowledgeable in Postal regulations and paperwork. Have a full understanding of the methods used for generating paperwork and dispatching product.

Embedded Hardware Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:
NPI is a national leader in the mail sorting business. We are seeking an Embedded Hardware Development Manager to join our team as a permanent resource at our Dallas/Ft. Worth location.

As a Hardware Development Manager, the candidate will report to the VP of Engineering and this key leadership role is responsible for the daily activities of an R&D and Sustaining Engineering organization including but not limited to, tasking assignments, moderating design reviews, and upholding standard hardware/firmware engineering methodologies. The candidate must understand system requirements, drive detailed technical requirements, and direct the testing of new product designs within the defined development process.

Responsibilities include staff resource planning, mentoring, developing and improving staff technical skills, conducting performance and compensation reviews, and performing as the primary inter-departmental interface. Further responsibilities may include hands-on engineering activities as necessary to achieve corporate goals and objectives. Hands-on activities may include but not limited to, C/C++ Programming in an embedded environment, schematic capture, PCB layout and board bring-up. Candidate must exhibit a strong work ethic, set a high standard for quality, and be effective both as an independent contributor and as part of a team.

Required Competencies & Skills:

  • M.Sc or B.Sc in Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible hardware and firmware development
  • 2+ years of line management leading a team of multi-disciplinary engineers or relative equivalent
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Strong hardware/firmware development methodology and process knowledge
  • Ability to create and manage a project schedules
  • Able to task and direct engineering resources to meet project commitments on time and budget
  • Programming for a real time operating system environment
  • Experience with modern 32-bit processor based embedded control systems

  • Knowledge of CAD tools
